PETALING JAYA: A Proton Iswara nearly disappeared into a sinkhole yesterday in Kelana Jaya. It was believed to have been caused by a broken pipe.
Courier company employee Osman Kassim had parked the vehicle in front of a restaurant in Pekan Batu 10, and was on his way to make a delivery in Klang when he received a call from a colleague that his car was sinking into a watery hole.
“I rushed back to the office. It was quite a shock to see the front of my car submerged in the hole. My friends and I tried to pull the car out but we couldn’t,” said Osman, adding that the engine compartment and the front seat of his car were drenched.
The Fire and Rescue Department later pulled it out.
No one was hurt, and other cars parked nearby were removed in time.
