KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV3 newscaster Wan Zaleha Wan Radzi had a rude start to 2008 when she was assaulted and driven off in her car by several men on Tuesday.
As she was approaching the vehicle, three men got out of a black car which had pulled up next to her.
Pretending to be officers from a government agency, one of the men approached her and asked for her identity card.
While she was searching her purse for the identity card, the man pushed her into their vehicle.
They took her around the Damansara Heights area and demanded her purse and the key to her car.
When she acceded to their demand, they drove back to where her car was and one of them got off.
The man drove off with her car.
But her ordeal did not end there. The men drove her around the city for several hours before dropping her off near the Puchong Perdana mosque.
Wan Zaleha lodged a report at the Bukit Puchong police station at 12.35am yesterday. She lost RM1,000 and her handphone.
City CID chief SAC II Ku Chin Wah confirmed the incident but declined to elaborate. Wan Zaleha could not be reached for comment.
