Raja Petra Kamaruddin Statutory Declaration: Cops investigating Raja Petra’s allegations

KUALA LUMPUR: The police will be calling up Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin to investigate his allegations in a recent statutory declaration, which touched on purported facts related to the ongoing Altantuya Shaariibuu trial.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said the three individuals named in the document filed at the High Court here on June 18 would also be called up.

Raja Petra had claimed that these individuals, one a prominent VIP, were present when Altantuya was killed on Oct 19, 2006.

Copies of the statutory declaration, filed on June 18, have been posted online by bloggers.

In his two-paged statutory declaration, Raja Petra said he had been “reliably informed” of the presence of these individuals at the murder.

Musa said that the matter could be subjudice as the Altantuya murder trial was on going.

Accused of the murder are C/Insp Azilah Hadri and Kpl Sirul Azhar Umar of the Unit Tindakan Khas (Special Action Unit). Accused of abetting them is political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda.

Musa said the allegations made by Raja Petra were “highly defamatory” and if found to be untrue, those making the allegations would have to face the consequences.

Meanwhile, the Attorney-General’s Chambers has filed a police report against Raja Petra over the statutory declaration.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patil said, “We want to investigate it as we want the truth. As far as I am concerned, we have to look it seriously.”

“If it’s true, we will act accordingly. If not, the writer will be investigated,’’ he said, adding that the report was lodged in Putrajaya on Saturday.

Politician’s use of fake photograph ‘disgraceful’

Tian Chua is under fire for refusing to apologise over a fake photograph of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda and an Altantuya Shariibuu lookalike dining together.

Politicians want the Parti Keadilan Rakyat information chief to apologise for using the "doctored" photograph showing Najib and the others together.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said Tian Chua had no excuses for publishing the photograph on his web blog.

"What he claims is art or humour is not only in bad taste but also offends the sensibilities of every rational Malaysian."

He said Tian Chua’s actions were disgraceful and an example of dirty tactics used by the opposition party.
Tian Chua had admitted to superimposing the pictures but claimed that it was a work of art for use in his own private space.

He also refused to apologise or retract the photograph.

Federal Territories Ministry parliamentary secretary Yew Teong Look said the photograph proved that Tian Chua had failed as a politician.

"Politicians need to lead by example and Tian Chua’s actions are not exemplary (in this respect). Don’t talk about politics. Even on moral grounds, it wasn’t the right thing to do," he said.

This was echoed by Suhakam human rights commissioner Datuk N. Siva Subramaniam who said it was not Tian Chua’s right to show disrespect to Najib.

"His actions have nothing to do with human rights. It’s an issue of respect. Regardless of one’s political leaning, respect should be given to the leadership, more so the office of deputy prime minister."

Siva Subramaniam was also worried that Tian Chua’s actions might mislead some people into thinking that the photograph was real. This could result in the people not trusting the administration, he added.

Putera Umno chief Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Ibrahim urged Tian Chua to apologise for his actions.

"He should apologise, admit his mistake. What he has done is an insult to our national leaders and Umno. It must not be tolerated."

Image taken from e Contrario, hosting by PhotobucketOnly an idiotic imbecile would actually think this picture is real

Even if you didn't have Kickdefella's exposé, one glance at the picture and you'd know immediately that it is fake. And Tian Chua should've had the decency to at least mention somewhere in the post that the picture was a simulation.

It's about as real as the Siti Nurhaliza nude pictures that used to float around the Internet a while back." Read further...

Funny Malaysia: Not only is the photoshop work done so badly, FM doubt the stick on face of the woman in the photo is actually Altantuya.

Update* 7/7/2007

FM took the liberty to conduct a detail investigation surrounding the controversial Altantuya photo. FM called in a 5-year old kid to conduct a thorough investigation and to provide detail report. This is the report from the 5-year old kid [seriously, this report is done by the 5-year old kid :) ]

The Altantuya Photo

The real identity of the woman is U;Nee, (Hangul: 유니, born Heo Yoon (허윤, 許允) May 3, 1981 – January 21, 2007) was a K-Pop South Korean songstress and actress. Before changing to music, she used a stage name Lee Hye-Ryeon (이혜련, 李慧蓮), which was believed to be her birth name until her death. She committed suicide by hanging herself; she had reportedly been suffering from depression. [Source: Wikipedia ]
